Holy Moly! I can't believe it's Opening Night already! My Mum and Brother flew in from Halifax last night and I am running around doing a million little things in preparation for this evening. But I DID manage to find a little time to post an audio clip from the show and a couple of pictures. They're under "Media". I'll be adding a lot more as time goes by, so feel free to check back as often as you'd like.
Thanks for reading!

I made a video in my spare time! It shows a bunch of the signage for the show and gives you a little glance at the facilities of the Citadel. Check 'er out under "media".
Thanks for stopping by!

Well, today marks the first week of rehearsals DONE! It just flew by and I haven’t had much time to keep all y’all updated, my apologies. Here comes a bit of an update now...

This show is going to be epic! Seriously. The sheer number of people in the room at the meet and greet was crazy to the max. I was a little overwhelmed. I walked around the theatre for the first day or two just in awe. And I got all misty-eyed at several different moments. I’m getting used to it all now, but every now and then I still have a “moment”. I am pretty darn lucky.

What I think about the show itself: the set will be stunning. The effects will be mind-blowing. I keep describing the show as “Broadway Quality... but in Edmonton”! I get to FLY, people. I got measured for a flying harness at the beginning of the week and we have flying rehearsals coming up soon.

The people in the cast are just RIDICULOUS. In a good way. I sat there at the first read through and just marveled at how perfectly cast the whole show is. Our Wicked Witch is perfect; my trio of travelers is hilarious and heart warming; our Glinda, Guard, and Wizard are spot on; our Munchkins are the cutest things I’ve ever seen; and our ensemble is so talented it’s scary! And then there is Toto. The two Toto’s, I should say. They are so adorable. I know that whenever I’m on stage with them, the audience will be looking at them, not me. How could they not?! Everyone is perfect.

The creative team is just remarkable. Bob, our director, is soooooo smart and knows exactly what he wants, which means that I feel taken care of! I know that he knows what he’s doing, so I just have to do my part and it will all come together nicely. Phil, our choreographer is wonderful and creates beautiful, clever movement while, at the same time, making me laugh at least 400 times a day. Don, our lovely musical director is a delight and makes me feel supported. He makes intelligent decisions, which I highly respect.

I haven’t actually seen my costume yet, but I did have a wig fitting a few days ago. There will be pictures, I’m sure. Hopefully soon!

I also hope to get some video up of the theatre facilities soon. Oh my Goodness, it is just GORGEOUS! There is pretty much a rainforest in the lobby. It’s hard to explain. Come back soon to see videos!

That’s all for now, friends. I have to go get more work done!

Thanks for stopping by.
Love,
Blair
