I am very excited to announce two upcoming shows that I will be a part of. The first will be in Orillia, Ontario and it is called The Radio Show. My dear, lovely friend Debbie Collins is writing it (and producing it, too!), so it's bound to be hiiiigh-larious! For more information please visit www.orilliaoperahouse.ca/summer.html.

The second big announcement is that I will be playing Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz once more. This time it will be in Neptune Theatre's Holiday Production in November/December/early January. I am especially excited because I'll get to be with my family for the holidays and because my little cousins will get to be swept away by the magic of it all. :) More info on that one can be found at www.neptunetheatre.com.

Thanks for your continued support and I hope to see you at the theatre (stay afterwards to say hello if you make it out to any of my lil shows!)!

I'm back in the recording studio! No, I'm not recording another CD yet, but I did go back in to record two more episodes of "Lil Ronnie" in The Ron James Show. And I've just heard that I'll be going back in to do another couple of  in early August. So keep an eye/ear out for Cousin Becky on CBC this fall (check your local listings!).

Peter Pan has just FLOWN by (pun somewhat intended!). It's been a great run and I have had the opportunity to meet some of the excellent audience members after the show. The reactions I've heard from the kids while I'm onstage has made every moment a ton of fun and hearing what their favourite parts are while talking to them afterwards is pretty darn great as well! :)

Keep an eye on this website, because I have exciting news to announce shortly!!

Thanks for stopping by and have an excellent day!

Yesterday was the first day of rehearsal for Peter Pan. Before arriving in Halifax, I'd heard from 3 different (and very reliable!) sources that the show was going to be "HUGE". Well, I'll confirm it! It's going to be huuuuuuge. The cast alone includes 22 people. Add to that creative team, stage management, band, crew, and more... well.... HUUUUUGE!!!
Also, there's going to be some pretty crazy-cool stage fighting, a TON of dancing (and the choreography - by Jimmy White - is going to make people want to see the show more than once so that they can come back and catch what they missed the first time! It looks SO good!), flying, a bazillion cool costumes, really neat sets (and lots of set changes), re-written music (to make it less offensive...!), and, and, and...! I am excited. I hope all of Halifax is too!! This one's gonna rock the house, kids. :)
More updates to follow as I learn more.

Hello, Friends!

Really exciting news: I will be playing Wendy Darling in Neptune Theatre's production of Peter Pan this spring! My Mum, friends, and extended family in my homeland are awfully excited... and so am I! I look forward to flying again and seeing a lot of people I love. More information about the show can be found at www.neptunetheatre.com.

I'm also continuing my work in the recording studio! I really, really hope to have my CD available by Opening Night of Peter Pan (where I will sell it in the lobby of Neptune!). Fingers crossed that it all comes together nicely (and quickly!).

That's all for now, but stay tuned for more exciting updates to come...

Love,
Blair

Hi, Everyone!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by my website.

I've been hard at work on my debut CD, which should be ready to be released SOON! It's all very exciting and a lot of hard work. But it will be worth it. Heck, it already is! It's been so much fun. I've also talked with the appropriate people about making the album available online, through this site! So if you're not one of those people I get to see very often, you can still get a CD if you'd like. :)

There are also some theatre deals in the works, as you may have guessed if you read my home page on this site. I can't say anything offically yet, but these shows promise to be a great deal of fun!

I hope this note finds you all well and having a great start to your year!

Always,
Blair

I have a new commercial voice demo! Exciting, right?! I think so...!
Some have asked me what a commercial voice demo is. Well, it's basically my take on a bunch of voice over spots (ads on the radio, the voice you hear on TV commercials... that kinda thing!), so that potential employers might hire me to be the voice on their ad! Fancy...
Anyway, if you're curious, it's up on this lil site, under the "media" tab.
Happy Turkey (or Tofurkey...) Weekend!

Album! 09/26/2009

Hello All Y'all,

It's been quite busy (what else is new?!) with auditions, classes, producing a commercial voice demo, and perhaps most exciting... all the work that is going into producing my very first Album!! It's in the very early stages, but it's all very exciting. The only thing that can be guaranteed at this point is that the CD will include a lotta showtunes and a lotta heart. I will most definitely post more details as they become available.

If you'd like me to let you know when the album is available for sale (or presale!), please drop me a note through the "Contact" page and I will put you on my special list.

Oh - and don't forget to keep an eye on The Ron James Show on Friday Nights on CBC! I am the voice of Little Becky in the animated segments this season. I don't think I've ever had so much fun as I did recording the episodes in the studio with the incredible team that the CBC assembled (well, except maybe when I got to fly in The Wizard of Oz... that was pretty freakin' cool too!).

Thanks again for all of your support!
Happy Fall,
xoB.

So, people have been asking me what the Ron James Show is all about. I did a little research and found this on www.cbc.ca. Enjoy! And be sure to tune in starting September 25th. If the animated sketches are any indication, this show is gonna be the funniest thing out there!! :)
xoB.

THE RON JAMES SHOW showcases the talents of renowned and much beloved comedian Ron James and his poetically charged observations about surviving life in the modern world. Anchored by Ron's hilarious and close to the bone stand-up the show will also feature an eclectic mix of in-studio sketches, video segments and an animated look at Ron's early childhood in Cape Breton (*Note from Blair: This is the part that my voice is in!! Listen for Cousin Becky! She's in 4 of the 12 episodes this season*). All of these segments will allow Ron to shine a humorous light on the frustrations and challenges everyday people face ‘in their daily march through life’s bright fury.

Debuting Friday, September 25th at 8 p.m. on CBC!!

Well, it's been uber busy since I returned to Toronto from Edmonton! Lots happening and I'm enjoying every minute of it.

The most exciting news is that I just recorded a couple of episodes of The Ron James Show! The show is set to air on CBC in the fall. In each episode, an animated scene is featured based on Ron's childhood. I am Cousin Becky's voice! It was an absolute BLAST to do this work with such fantastic people. Honestly, this is some of the funniest writing I've encountered in a really long time. If these short scenes are any indication as to how hilarious the whole show is going to be... well, look out, Canada!! You've got a hit on your hands!! I urge you to watch it, not only to support Canadian Television, but also because you'll have a blast!! I'll post it on here when I know the air dates. OR, check your local listings!

Ciao for now,
Blair
